HOME INSURANCE
Home insurance:
There are two forms of household insurance – building and contents – which are distinct but often sold together with a discounted rate.
Buildings Insurance
Obtaining buildings insurance is a requirement when taking out a mortgage, regardless of purchasing a property or remortgaging. Not only is it mandatory per mortgage offer, but it is also essential to protect your property and its contents from the devastation of a fire or flood.
Contents insurance
Contents insurance covers the loss or damage to the contents within your home, including furniture, electronics, and other personal belongings. Some policies even extend coverage to items taken outside of your home such as jewelry, cameras, and briefcases. Different policies offer varying levels of protection, but typically they will cover theft, fire, and accidental damage.
